Job Title: Integrated Operations Scheduler
Who We Are
Welcome to Vale. Our purpose is to improve life and transform the future. Together. We value our workforce and strive to offer continuous training and career development opportunities for our people.
Vale Base Metals is one of the world's largest producers of high-quality nickel and an important producer of copper and responsibly sourced cobalt. With headquarters in Toronto, Canada, and operations in Newfoundland & Labrador, Ontario, Manitoba, UK, Indonesia, and Brazil, we are delivering the critical building blocks for a cleaner, greener future.
Applying the latest technologies to sustainably mine the critical minerals that power electric vehicles, build renewable energy solutions, and help develop life-saving medical equipment is at the heart of what we do.
We invite you to be part of our evolution.
Our Newfoundland and Labrador Operations are an integrated mining, milling, and processing operation. Nickel concentrate from the fly-in, fly-out Voisey’s Bay operation is shipped to our state-of-art Long Harbour Processing Plant where it is refined into low-carbon and high-purity nickel rounds, cobalt rounds and copper cathodes.
We are currently seeking an Integrated Mine Operations Scheduler to join our Integrated Operations Team in Voisey’s Bay.

As an Integrated Mine Operations Scheduler, you will be responsible to continuously improve the work team performance through effective use of established processes as defined at the mine. As an Integrated Operations Scheduler you will be accountable for developing an integrated 12-week short range schedule and supporting conflict resolution and escalation of decisions in the week of execution. You will also be applying work breakdown detail to the primary mining activities and levelling resources to remove instances of over allocation.
In this position, you will:
Support the development of the integrated 12 week execution schedule as per the production requirements of the business plan;
Add and manage additional details to the week +1 to +3 plan, ensuring work isn’t included in the schedule if planning is not complete;
Support resolution of scheduling conflicts on behalf of the Integrated Operations Superintendent by assessing production requirements and proposing conflict solutions;
Work in chosen scheduling platform ~80% of time to schedule all tasks;
Monitor effectiveness of Integrated Operations Scheduling systems and processes and recommend improvements to the Mine Manager / Superintendents;
Integrate input(s) from Operations, Engineering, Maintenance and Logistics into the planning schedule to meet the mine commitments;
Experience & Skills
4+ years of operations and scheduling for underground mining or a similar industry;
Experience using scheduling software and SAP;
Working knowledge of multiple processes within a mining environment;
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced working environment with tight deadlines;
Exceptional communication and organization skills;
