Halifax Vision Surgical Centre is Nova Scotia’s premium eye surgery centre. We are dedicated to maintaining, restoring, and improving our patients’ vision in a professional and compassionate manner using the latest advancements in technology.
We are looking for 2 nurses to fill the positions as scrub and circulating nurses in our operating room.
Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities:
- Assisting surgeons during surgical procedures.
- Applying sterile techniques in handling medical instruments and equipment pre, during, and post-surgery.
- Preparing patients for surgery by cleaning and disinfecting areas to be operated on.
- Providing surgical patients with peri-operative care in the operating room.
- Developing and implementing nursing care plans for surgical patients.
- Updating patient files and medical records.
- Stocking operating rooms with sterile surgical equipment, linens, and supplies.
- Collaborating with surgical teams on patient medication and post-surgery care.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- Must be an RN or LPN with Operating Room experience (this is non-negotiable)
- Sterile Technique
- Must be fully vaccinated
