The civil structural engineer is responsible for performing the structural analysis and design of different Structural Systems and Components (SCC) in Nuclear Power Plant (NPP). He is also responsible of understanding the interactions between different structural, mechanical, electrical, and piping components of a system. He applies theory, principles, data, and methods within the engineering design to perform the design of the structural systems and components. Essential Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of senior and principal engineers, the civil will perform the following tasks: Conduct system and plant operational functional requirements analysis.

Perform functional allocation to operators or plant control systems.

Perform structural analysis and design of different structural systems and components of a nuclear power plant

Perform structural analysis using Finite Element Analysis tools to develop the structural demands on different structural component

Perform structural design of different structural components such as walls, slabs, foundations, etc.

Perform seismic analysis and evaluation of different structural systems and components in NPPs

Support developing design and detailed drawings and specifications

Incorporate design requirements into analyses and design documents.

Provide on-time, quality delivery of engineering documentation in accordance with contract requirements, business procedures, and regulatory agency guidelines.

Demonstrated ability to operate within an established technical framework, learn quickly, and sort through information and make timely and sound decisions.

Strong oral and written communication skills and solid technical writing skills with focus on detailed requirements, design, and description documents.

Demonstrated ability to document, plan, market, and execute projects and programs.

Honest and straightforward with a high level of personal integrity.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master’s Degree of Science in civil structural engineering .

1 or more years of civil engineering analysis and design experience
Desired Characteristics:
- PhD Degree in civil structural engineering.

Registered Professional Engineer in the United States or Canada
