Delta Pacific Seafoods is the largest fresh, frozen, and value-added seafood operation in British Columbia, specializing in high-quality custom seafood processing, value-added and cold storage services.
Our modern facility has a 60,000 sq. ft cold storage warehouse rated for 10,000,000 lb. capacity with 2 temperature zones cold (-24C) and super cold (-30C). We also have an inventory management system that provides real time online access to inventory.
We are looking for a dynamic Lead Hand to join our cold storage warehouse team. As Lead Hand you will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations on the cold storage dock, which includes both managing workflow and a small team of 4-6 employees.
Duties and Responsibilities:
o Be the ‘go-to’ person for the team and ensure daily department operations run safely and smoothly.
o Lead a small team of 4-6 employees.
o Accurately pick and prepare orders for shipping.
o Staging completed orders on the dock prior to pick up.
o Receive incoming goods and verify contents against the packing slip.
o Ensure daily shipping/receiving logs are accurate and complete.
o Load and unload containers by hand or mobile equipment as needed.
o Transport raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the plant using a forklift.
o Follow the company’s safety and quality standards.
o Report incidents to the supervisor and/or management such as damaged products, malfunctioning equipment, etc
Skills and Qualifications:
o Grade 12 or equivalent secondary school.
o Forklift Certification required.
o 1-2 years of supervisory experience required.
o Able to work in a cooler/freezer environment for long periods of time.
o Attention to detail and accuracy is a must.
o Basic English skills - must be able to speak, read, and write.
o Basic Computer skills (MS Office/ Outlook).
o Previous warehouse experience in a food manufacturing plant is an asset.
o Own vehicle required.
