The Job
This challenging position will fit someone who has a strong drive, and who is not afraid to get a little dirty to get the job done, regardless what it takes. Your track record of exceptional troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues will drive your success within this role.
We are looking for a Journeyman Millwright to join our team in Lethbridge, AB!
What You’ll Do:
- Troubleshoot, Repair, Rebuild, and Routine Maintenance of various plant machinery and equipment, including power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Utilize the onsite Preventative Maintenance EAM program to complete assigned work, and enter new requests for repairs, parts, follow-up work, etc.
- Installation and retrofitting of complex production equipment; fabricating and welding as required.
- Align machines and equipment during installation, using hoists, jacks, squares, ruler, micrometers, and plumb bobs.
- Use a lathe to grind, file, and turn machine parts to match the appropriate specifications.
- Assist with shut down operations to assemble machinery and equipment.
- Optimize equipment safety, efficiency, and reliability participating in continuous improvement projects and complete works according to PM schedules.
- Ensure that safety policies, quality standards, and standard operating procedures are followed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
About You:
- Journeyman Millwright preferred, Journeyman Electricians may also apply.
- 2 years of industrial mechanical experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated aptitude in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals, and specifications.
- Able to work well in both a team and independently, and comfortable using computer/tablet.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Accurate and highly analytical.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
- You are comfortable working at heights, dusty environments, heat/cold, indoors/outdoors, and confined spaces.
- Occasionally able to lift heavy loads of up to 50lbs.
Hours of Work:
We have opportunities within our Maintenance Team on the Weekend shift which runs Friday-Sunday, 6AM-6PM, with compensation for 40 hours.
We also have opportunities on our weekday shift which runs Monday-Friday rotating 2 weeks of dayshift, 2 weeks of afternoon shift, and 2 weeks of night shift.
