The program coordinator (PC) reports directly to the Manager of Continuing Education Programs and supports the department in achieving NAIT's strategic objectives through a primary focus on program oversight, program quality, instructor supervision and excellence. The PC will have a solid understanding of the programming they are coordinating, and a developed connection to the industry sectors and markets their programming serves. The PC role will be supportive as a means of on-boarding new topic areas and industry expertise to support the expansion of product knowledge, injecting subject, market, and industry knowledge into the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instructor Excellence
-
Supports instructor excellence and best practices in all aspects including sourcing, recruiting, hiring, supervising, managing performance, and mentoring and coaching.

Encourages instructor development and growth with training in learning platforms as required
-
Ensures courses are delivered as scheduled and instructional deliveries are of high quality while also managing fluctuating staffing levels as a response to enrollment.

Program Oversight
-
Coordinates ongoing review, evaluation, and revision of program content to maintain relevancy, effectiveness, adherence to best practices, and connection to industry

Identifies new program/courses and service needs, and assists in coordinating the financing, design, development, approval, and delivery of such new courses/services

Has a rich understanding of industry and markets within area of expertise and seeks out, recommends, and provides portfolio representation at outreach activities within industry

Engages with internal and external stakeholders, including developing partnerships, for the purpose of ensuring relevancy related to program content and delivery

Assists with development of annual marketing plans and coordinates completion of marketing and student engagement materials

Program level financial coordination and reporting in conjunction with the department manager.

Completes program delivery planning and portfolio specific tasks within a cross-functional team.

Comprehensive and detailed understanding of continuing education products within area of expertise

Implements principles of consistency and accountability to maintain quality control across program content and instructional delivery including developing and coordinating processes

Proactively seeks out and makes recommendations for improvements to programming

Responds to internal/external factors affecting portfolio delivery and best practices

Student Support

Responds to student feedback, resolves student complaints, and/or follows up on success stories related to instruction, evaluation, progression, program quality, etc.

Participates in activities that relate to student recruitment, retention, and progression
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Employs high degree of initiative and independent judgment

Ability to plan and manage a high volume of varied work

Problem-solving, project and time management skills
Qualifications:
- Related post-secondary education and/or experience required.

Previous supervisory experience
-
Experience working in an adult learning environment ideally in with instructional experience
Remuneration: $3,023.71 - $4,005.89 bi-weekly, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
