Airdrie based employer looking to hire an experienced driver (1 year minimum, 3 years preferred) for 16 ft cube truck to do donation pick-ups in the greater Calgary area up to the Red Deer area.
Driver duties include including loading bags by hand into the truck and following a specific pick-up route in a timely manner. These is a physically demanding job, and the applicant must be prepared for the volume of work and repetition and be able to lift 50 pounds. Those looking for exclusively delivery driver jobs will find this job more physically demanding than previous delivery driver jobs they may have had in the past.
Requires good driving record and habits, as well as being physically fit. Patience in dealing with poorly packaged donations is a must. Knowledge of collection area throughout Calgary and up to Red Deer is an asset.
Occasional Warehouse duties include, offloading trucks, operating a baling machine, loading outbound trailers/containers, various material handling duties, providing assistance to others working in the warehouse. Forklift experience helpful. Some warehouse shifts may be required.

Valid class 5 needed or higher level is preferred, with clean drivers abstract. Also, it is necessary that your insurance history details your previous cube truck driving experience to qualify you with our insurance company, and you need to currently have insurance in your own name to document your insurance history.
Must have good character/attitude, and be able to work in an efficient, reliable, and honest manner.
Must have the ability to work either independently or with a co-worker within a diverse work force. Ability to follow instructions is important.
Good communications skills and ability to work cooperatively.
Hours of work will include one weekday and weekends, schedule to be determined, and may vary so applicants need to have flexibility. PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO AIRDRIE RESIDENTS.
