Position Title: Maintenance Planner, Fixed Plant (Fly-In-Fly-Out)
Salary Range: $60/hr plus OT ($70/hr over a 12 hour day)
About the Client and Role
We require an experienced Fixed Plant (Electrical) Maintenance Planner for our client, a mining firm with a growing operation located in the far north. This is an Open Ended Contract requirement which may go permanent. We require someone with previous Maintenance Planning experience overseeing Fixed Plant and Electrical Equipment. Experience using SAP or another ERP an asset.
Key responsibilities for this role will include:·

Responsible for developing a weekly preventive maintenance schedule and parts picking slips to accommodate that schedule

Responsible for the preparation of equipment operating cost estimates.

Responsible to build and operate a component replacement strategy and annual calendar plans.

Work closely with Reliability & Manufacturers to ensure maximum asset life is achieved.

Responsible for the development of a daily, weekly and rolling maintenance plan, identifying the required repair parts, material, labor, tooling, equipment, repair procedures and special and contracted services that are needed.

Liaise regularly with maintenance planners, maintenance foremen and warehouse personnel to ensure the maintenance team will have all resources available to meet their goals.

Mentoring and supporting the maintenance Planners and Schedulers

Responsible for assisting in the development of the maintenance budget annually.

Responsible for monitoring maintenance costs and identifying variances in the budget

Responsible for maintaining costs in relation to the maintenance budget

Responsible for ensuring related work follows existing mine regulations, particularly OH&S.

Responsible for establishing, maintaining, and improving the maintenance planning and scheduling business flow process

Take lead on major planning projects and future planning initiatives

Review and approve the work packages created by the maintenance planners, including routine work tasks, tooling, parts, and consumables lists, to ensure the work scope is fulfilled

Assist with maintaining and ensuring the integrity of the CMMS

Provide Input to various departments to improve performance and ensure efficient and effective planning of work
The ideal candidate will have:

Minimum 5 Years’ experience as a Planner or Scheduler in the Mining Industry. Preferably with Fixed and/or E&I Assets

Safety attitude and personal commitment to a zero-incident workplace

Sound understanding of the correlation between preventive maintenance and operating costs
-
Basic knowledge of Supply Chain, warehousing and procurement procedures

Knowledge of OH&S Mining Regulations and related legislation

An understanding of mining maintenance including capabilities of Fixed and Electrical Assets
-
Well-developed knowledge and ability in the use of word processing and spreadsheet applications including a working knowledge of computer maintenance planning and troubleshooting programs

Ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrated flexibility in responding to changing priorities

Well-developed oral and written communication skills
-
Excellent organizational and time management skills and multi-tasking abilities
