- receiving and unloading new stock deliveries.
- sorting and storing vehicle parts and materials.
- recording on computer the numbers, names and location of items.
- Dealing with requests for parts and materials from motor mechanics or customers on the phone or by email.
- Assist customers in selecting required parts and suggest companion requirements
- Sell parts over the counter to wholesale and counter retail customers.
- Answer phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.
- Assist outside sales representatives with their orders.
- Handle telephone parts orders called in by wholesale and/or retail accounts.
- Promote additional parts sales by suggesting related items, seasonal lines, and/or parts specials.
- Order parts
- Clean, revise, and update parts displays as directed
- Inform customers when parts special-ordered for them are received.
- Determine correct parts numbers and pick parts for orders received
- Help maintain parts stock in orderly condition.
- Assist with regular parts inventories and the selection of parts for return under parts obsolescence protection program.
- Participate in all training programs that are made available.
- Assist service technicians with selecting parts needed for repairs in process.
- Be friendly, professional and efficient when working with all customers, both on the phone and in person.
- Other roles and duties assigned by management
- May be required to assist with tire storage
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or the equivalent.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
- One year of experience in an automotive Parts Department (recommended).
- One year of sales experience (recommended).
- Ability to work well with the public, sometimes with several customers at a time.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $17.00-$19.00 per hour
