Adco Power Ltd. is a medium sized multi-disciplined industrial contractor, specializing in remote construction projects. We require an experienced shipper/receiver looking for a long term, permanent position.
Job Description:
The shipper/receiver is responsible for the overall day to day operations of our Edmonton shop. This includes, but is not limited to, the following key responsibilities:
Receiving
-Offload any shipments from suppliers
-Unload large items with Forklifts or Overhead Cranes
-Receive all shipments
-Physically count and verify all shipments and ensure that they match the packing slips (this requires a lot of lifting, as the material has to be manually unpacked to count and then repacked on pallets/crates)
-Mark and track all boxes, parcels, bundles etc. with specific P/O numbers
-Organize/stage all items as they come in per project
-Unpack all returned project tools and materials
-Repair or get any tools fixed that require repair
-Maintain the tool inventory list
-Keep the Receiving area clean and organized
Shipping
-Complete all paperwork for every shipment… Air freight, Ground freight, Sea freight, Hand carried, Dangerous Goods etc.
-Order shipping materials… Sea Cans, Crates, Plastic wrap, Dunnage, Banding material, Packaging materials, Tape and labels
-Build the shipment for every project, while working closely with the PM's as to how/what order they want to see the items shipped
-Manually pack items and crates and then pack into Sea Cans (this requires a lot of lifting)
-Detailed documentation and itemization of crates and locations in Sea Cans in the ADCO Manifest tracker
-Arrangement of all shipments domestic and international
-Arrangement of all heavy lifts in the yard i.e., Cranes, Picker Trucks or Forklifts
-Pick, test and ship tools for all projects to sites and returning from sites
-Acquire shipping quotes for project managers or the estimation department
-Provide shipping directions for the estimating group on tenders
Shop
-Ensure the shop and shipping areas are aways clean and organized
-Make pick-ups or deliveries with shop trucks and trailers
-Maintain or schedule maintenance for our Forklifts, Overhead cranes, Shop trucks, Trailers, Shop equipment, any site equipment that is in the yard etc.
-Ensure the yard is clean and organized
-Snow removal as required
-Organize and maintain all materials/tools in sea cans located in yard
Required Knowledge & Skills:
-Prior experience in full capacity shipping/receiving
-Good familiarity with Microsoft computer programs: Excel, Word, Project, etc.
-Experience operating equipment.
-Effective communication skills – oral and written.
-Ability to work in a multi-discipline team environment.
-Mechanically inclined.
-Experience in Industrial Construction an asset.
