With our current and expected growth we're looking to add a Shipper/Receiver to our afternoon shift. This position will work Monday through Friday, 4:00pm to 1:00 am, banking 1/2 hour daily which enables you to enjoyed extra days off around stat holidays (paid w/banked time) AND a paid week off at Christmas.

REPORTS TO: Supply Chain Manager
SALARY RANGE: $21.00-27.00/Hour
HOURS: 42.5 hours weekly (includes 2.5 hrs banked)
SUMMARY: The Shipper-Receiver is responsible for accepting, inspecting, and recording the movement of parts, supplies, materials and equipment to (and within) Tradesman facilities, as well as ensuring all product is delivered and placed into the proper locations in addition to picking orders, preparing orders for shipment and loading/staging orders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Receive product physically into the warehouse and into the SAGE inventory system.

Documenting receiving discrepancies (damage, shortages, overages, non-conformance etc.)

Use picking slips to accurately pick customer orders.
-
Prepare orders for shipment (skid product, shrink wrap skids, etc.)
-
Assemble containers and crates, pack products to be shipped in a manner that maximizes space utilization and prevents damage.
-
Verify that picking slips match orders and physical product being shipped.
-
Prepare identifying information and shipping instructions. Ensure each skid is labelled properly.
-
Load efficiently and effectively within the time limits set out.
-
Ensure all inventory is accurately accounted for and put in appropriate locations.
-
Perform manual and clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, and storing.
-
Responsible for quality control. No damaged product is to be received in or shipped out.
-
Complete paperwork or forms required to record non-conformance product.
-
Various cleaning duties insuring a clean and efficient warehouse; emptying garbage/recycling receptacles.
-
Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies, etc.
-
Utilize computerized or automated systems to accomplish tasks.
-
Maintain and develop positive business relationships with customers’, vendors and/or personnel.
-
Anticipate problems, offer solutions, as well as seeking ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Inventory operations.
-
Count, weigh or measure incoming or outgoing items to compare identifying information, variety and quantities against purchase orders or work orders.
-
Perform all duties in accordance with established safety policies and procedures.
-
Perform daily/weekly/monthly documentation (daily forklift inspections, warehouse audits, LEAN audits).
-
Clear and concise communication with supervisor on work schedules/flows.

Over-time as required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Manual dexterity required for operating forklifts, machinery and moving product.

Ground to waist and waist to overhead lifting up to 60lbs repetitively.

Excellent eyesight and depth perception. Prescription eye correction is mandatory for those who require it.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Cross-training in other areas to provide back-up.

Update work instructions as needed.

Ensure all safety regulations are followed and safety documentation is being filed.

Maintain a clean and efficient warehouse: by sweeping/shovelling driveways, walkways, steps and shipping/receiving areas, keeping tidy mezzanines and consolidating pallets, removing garbage, returning tools to their home location, and putting pulled but not shipped product back in its home location, etc.

Keep aisles, warehouse areas and yard, tidy and organized.

Maintain a good example of safety and courtesy for all employees and visitors to the Tradesman Facility.

Ability to multitask to meet deadlines and remain efficient.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Forklift certification with a min. of 1 year of operating experience.

Intermediate computer skills including MS Office suite, data entry, data look-up, running/printing reports.

An understanding of material handling procedures and hazardous material handling.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Oral comprehension and expression; Must speak, read and write in English equivalent to the OECD Level 2 or higher.

Ability to perform basic mathematical equations with precision and accuracy (basic addition/subtraction and multiplication/division equations, count, weigh & measure). Numeracy skills equivalent to the OECD Level 2 or higher.
