We are looking for an energetic and hardworking Forklift Operator to join our team!
Job Summary
Reporting to the Outbound/Inbound Supervisor, the Forklift Operator assists our inbound and outbound teams to unload and load trucks and trailers with Less-than -Truckload (LTL) freight of all descriptions; maintains dock cleanliness; assists in finding freight for dispatch and deals with customers picking up items. Must be safety-oriented with excellent attention to detail.
Work Schedule/Shift:
Monday to Friday (40 hours a week)
Shift: 15:00-23:30

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks
- Select and use proper freight handling equipment to load and unload freight which may include forklifts with appropriate hardware, hand trucks, drum trucks, pallet jacks, rollers, and any other available equipment to move, load, arrange, rearrange and unload freight
- Ensure items are packaged safely before shipping and loaded according to the weight legally allowed by the vehicle
- Weigh and cube freights to ensure precise size and weight data to safely store them on racks, collect on pallets and load on trucks
- Read and interpret shipping labels. Familiarity with, and in some cases ability to complete the various forms utilized in freight movement such as shipping orders, city stripping manifests, freight bills, overage/damage movement reports and exception forms
- Log any shortages or damages and sign off manifests ensuring all irregularities are noted.
- Maintain a clean and safe workplace
Qualification Requirements
- Professional attitude in all interactions when on shift
- Reliable attendance a must
- Minimum of 5 years of experience operating a forklift in a high-traffic space required
- Minimum of 3 years LTL experience, 5 years experience preferred
- Experience handling dangerous goods preferred
- Experience loading/unloading flat deck freight is an asset
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ready to work in a fast-paced, high-volume team environment
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly wage: $ 24.15 to start, top rate currently $27.09
- Benefits and Pension available through the Teamsters National Benefit Plan after 45 day probation period
