We have a full-time permanent employment opportunity in our IT department for an IT Project Manager to join our team in Langley, BC.
Reporting to the Manager, PMO (Project Management Office), you will plan, execute, and finalize large scale, multi-disciplinary business and/or technology projects, according to strict deadlines, scope, and budget. This includes defining the project’s objectives, overseeing quality control throughout the project lifecycle, and communicating on project status.
You will be responsible for:
Defining project goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
Directing and managing project development from beginning to end using a defined project management methodology.
Identifying and resolving issues and conflicts within the project team.
Identifying and managing project risks, dependencies, and critical path.
Ensuring that project status and issues are communicated to project team, stakeholders, and sponsors.
Effectively setting and continually managing project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
Determining and assessing need for additional staff and/or consultants needed to achieve project goals during the project cycle.
Assisting with the development of best practices and tools for project execution and management.
Conducting postmortems, PIRs, and creating recommendation reports in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
You have:
A post-secondary education in Computer Science or similar.
A minimum of 5 years of experience successfully managing large scale IT projects.
A PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification (preferred).
A thorough understanding of project management principles, practices, and theories for managing IT application projects.
A strong grasp of information technology concepts and processes.
A strong business acumen.
