We have an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Field Services Technician/Technologist in our Edmonton region. The successful candidate will work as part of the field service team to provide exceptional client service on electrical testing, commissioning, repair, and maintenance projects.
Accountabilities
- Work safely and effectively on low, medium, and high voltage power systems on a variety of sites
- Testing, commissioning, repair, and maintenance of primary and secondary power equipment including breakers, transformers, switchgear, relays, and so on
- Utilize various makes and models of testing and troubleshooting equipment
- Work effectively either independently or as part of a field service team
- Execute test procedures in accordance with industry, NETA and OEM specifications as required
- Complete technical reports and maintain communication with project managers in an effort to provide exceptional client service
- Interact with clients and team members in a courteous and professional manner
- Identify and implement process improvements as required
Required skills and qualifications
- Journeyman Electrician or Power Systems Electrician, or in the process of obtaining
- Electrical Engineering Degree or Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma, or in the process of obtaining
- 4+ years of electrical field service experience
- Field experience including commissioning, testing or maintaining power equipment, including breakers, transformers, switchgear, relays, and so on
- Self-starter with time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Proven team player with a positive attitude and excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Experience preparing and reviewing technical field service reports
- Proficient operation of Microsoft Windows and Office applications (such as Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability and willingness to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
- Ability and willingness to travel and work out of town
- Hold a valid driver’s license
