We are seeking a Health and Safety Coordinator to support our HSE team by providing administrative and coordination support to the HSE team to ensure the Company’s HSE Management System is effectively applied to support the safety performance of the Company. Salary: $57,000 to $69,000 per year
Responsibilities:
What You’ll Be Doing
-
Prepare and distribute weekly safety meeting packages and other safety-related communications.

Assist in entering incident and hazard information into safety management software. Assist in collecting incident paperwork and preparing incident investigation packages. May require field assistance to gather incident evidence.

Conduct, enable and support proactive hazard identification in business service departments.

Provide assistance with general administration duties, correspondence, and production of documents for the HSE Department.

Create, prepare and present reports on HSE statistics, trends, and other information.

Support HSE team to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of the application of the Company’s HSE Management System.
- Facilitate and participate in the development and implementation of project / department HSE plans, goals and objectives.

Request driver abstracts from applicable jurisdictions. Review for demerit status and ensure follow up warning letter is distributed to those that are outside company policy.

Upload safety training certificates into company’s learning management software and run reports.

Provide support to other areas of the business unit as directed.

Participate in field-based inspections and audits as needed to support the HSE team.

May be required to provide coverage for HSE Advisor during absences.
Qualifications:
What Makes You the ONE

Minimum three years’ experience in an administrative position.

Minimum one year experience in a Health and Safety related position.

Working towards or have obtained a certificate, diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent post-secondary education preferred.

NCSO designation combined with experience may be considered as equivalent.

Excellent communication skills (spoken/written/grammar/punctuation)

Able to multitask under tight deadlines; set priorities.

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- High level of proficiency with MS Office (intermediate or advanced in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Ability to effectively work in a team environment.

Demonstrated ability to take initiative and showcase a self-starter mentality.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
