Job Summary
Manitoba Harvest has an opportunity for energetic people and customer service driven Human Resources Coordinator to join our team. This position will be responsible for our Winnipeg and Ste Agathe, MB facility and reporting to both locations as needed. This position can be eligible for our Hybrid Remote Work Program.
The Human Resources Coordinator will complete day-to-day administrative duties for the Human Resources and Safety Departments. This role supports the local Human Resources Manager in the administration of the policies, procedures, employee relations activities and programs. This role will also be a member corporate HR Service Excellence team and will provide administrative support at the organizational level.
Responsibilities:
- Provides day to day administrative support to HR/ Safety department.
- Respond to inquiries and provides guidance on human resource policies and programs to resolve issues, and to promote a safe and respectful workplace..
- Maintains HR databases (Workday) ensuring accurate employee information including new hires, transfers, changes and terminations.
- Prepares letters and reports related to employment agreements, employment status and employment changes, leaves, benefits and programs.
- Develop, update and maintain policies, job descriptions programs and other related HR and Safety documentation.
- Complies and reports to payroll any payroll required to employee records, new hires, terminations, transfers, payroll deductions, vacation/sick, leaves or any other required updates.
- Assists with the administration and delivery of the Health and Safety programs.
- Works with Talent Acquisition team in preparation of job postings, interviewing, and scheduling of interviews
- Conducts new hire on-boarding and orientation and prepares required HR documentation and system updates.
- Benefits administration including reconciliation and premium payments, enrollments terminations, and changes and remittance of premiums.
- Assists with the development, delivery and scheduling of employee training including training needs assesment, production cross-training, Safety Training, measurement and training transfer.
- Assists with employee communication and feedback through such company meetings, suggestion programs, employee satisfaction surveys, newsletters, employee focus groups, and one-on-one meetings.
- Supports the administration of the performance management system(P2G)
Qualifications:
- Post-Secondary education in Human Resources Management or currently enrolled.
- 1-2 years of working experience in an HR role preferred.
- Extremely people and customer service oriented; ability to build trusting relationships with all employees and all levels of management.
- Knowledge of current legislation and trends affecting human resources.
- Strong presentation, written, and verbal skills.
- Effective communication skills with all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
- Extremely organized and able to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to travel between the Winnipeg and Ste Agathe facilities when needed.

About the Opportunity
Manitoba Harvest has an opportunity for energetic and experienced LOGISTICS COORDINATOR to join our team. This position can be based out of our Winnipeg location with periodic travel to our Ste Agathe, MB facility when required. This position can be eligible for our Hybrid Remote Work Program.
SCOPE:
The Logistics Coordinator role will assist with oversight and facilitation of logistics in partner with our supply chain operations. The role will be responsible to coordinate all inbound and outbound freight for both domestic and international shipments while working closely with carrier partners. The role will successfully communicate and achieve the effective and efficient distribution of products. The goal is to ensure logistical smooth operations of a variety of channels aiming for maximum efficiency.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Quote, book, ship and record freight related to branded and ingredient customers, co-manufacturers and suppliers.
- Coordinate all inbound and outbound freight for both domestic and international shipments.
- Create associated documentation for domestic and international freight.
- Collaborate with Farm Operations for weekly grain moves and carrier assignment.
- Record customer shipping/receiving requirements with Customer Care and Farm Operations for Distributor/Retailer/Pedigree shipping.
- Analyze and Optimize options for improved freight services, costs, accessorial charges, and lead times.
- Complete, submit and follow-up on Freight claims including losses, undelivered and damaged goods.
- Identify opportunities to reduce overall freight cost by researching and negotiating rates with carriers.
- Coordinate with team members to achieve and maintain a positive OTIF with customer deliveries.
- Troubleshoot transportation issues to the customers satisfaction.
- Assist with annual freight request for proposal for courier, LTL, full truck loads.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree/ Diploma in Supply Chain Management or Transportation and Logistics or related programs
- 2+ years’ experience in a Logistics Coordinator role or similar
- Experience in preparation Transportation/Logistics and customs documentation.
- Strong negotiation and problem solving skills
- Well-developed interpersonal written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage strict deadlines and resolve issues with a sense of urgency.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point)
