Position Summary
We are seeking a creative, and innovative individual who can provide data analytical and interpret data to assess current changes in local population demographic indicators and health status to inform program planning and operational workflows in the areas of healthcare utilization and funding, chronic disease management, standard care pathways, patient outcomes, and patient care quality and safety.
The applicant must have experience working with complex and large healthcare datasets; utilizing innovative techniques for population health studies; linking multiple types and sources of data, including administrative and clinical data; and conducting advanced statistical analysis using relevant software.
In this role, you will work directly with other members of the Decision Support team and/or individuals at various levels within the organization and will report to the Manger of Decision Support.
Meetings and Travel
Hybrid work onsite and remote. Some travel throughout the GTA is required, dependent on work assignments.
Duties

Work closely with a team of decision support analysts to provide analysis, interpretation, and presentation of data; and create and maintain technical documentation

The applicant must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of population health and advanced statistical analysis techniques.

Provides analytical support and expertise to facilitate effective and efficient benchmarking, trending and projections analysis at corporate and clinical program levels.

Designs and produces timely and meaningful analysis and data interpretation using large health care related datasets to help the organization understand and monitor performance, break down key drivers, and identify new opportunities.

Interprets data accurately and produces clear and comprehensive written analyses, dashboards, graphs, tables, etc. for diverse internal and external audiences.

Translate complex analysis into simple visualizations that can communicate key takeaways to leaders and stakeholders.

Support reporting to various external reporting agencies such as: CCO, MOHLTC, TC LHIN, etc…

Commit to and actively work to remain knowledgeable and up-to-date in the assigned field.

Make recommendations and challenge the status quo to find alternative/creative ways to improve reporting processes and quality.
Qualifications

Master’s degree in Epidemiology, Statistics, Health Economics or equivalent combination of education and experience

Three (3) or more years of experience in a decision support environment in healthcare including experience preparing analyses of operational, and quality measures

Experience working with the CIHI acute datasets (DAD, NACRS) and other large healthcare datasets (e.g., IntelliHealth) is required

Working knowledge of health care funding methodologies (HBAM and QBP) is highly preferred

Demonstrated proficiency in qualitative and quantitative data analytics, visualization, and reporting

Strong programming and data management skills, including but not limited to proficiency in a statistical tools (e.g., SAS, R, SPSS) is required

Experience in working with a data visualizing tools (e.g. Power BI) is an asset

Knowledge of health care reporting requirements (e.g. OHRS and MIS guidelines) is an asset

Experience with relational database structures and the extraction and manipulation of data using Microsoft SQL is an asset

Proficient use of MS Office suite (specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
