About the role
As part of the Infrastructure Engineering team, the candidate will be directly involved in leading the design and development of best-in-class product solutions that maintain Lockheed's robust position in the Naval market space. As a systems engineer with focus on Total Ship Infrastructure (TSI) hardware design, this role includes leading the design of products that meet customer requirements, establishing vendor relationships, auditing potential equipment suitability, and supporting back-end systems hardware development from prototyping to End-Of-Life (EOL).
The candidate must be able to lead by demonstrating engineering interest in novel technologies, supporting work estimates, proposing improvements, conducting risk analysis and supporting design reviews to optimize system and hardware design.
The candidate will perform the following:

Leading a team of engineers in systems engineering and integrated product development, including task planning/management and interfacing to program stakeholders

Produce and/or review design artefacts for system and hardware products
-
Produce and/or review white papers and market studies for system and hardware products

Coordinate with procurement department and communicate with suppliers to identify suitable products to meet system requirements

Support design and demonstration that selected hardware solutions meet required performance criteria and cyber accreditation (Including: Operating Environment, Network, Processing, Storage, Interfaces, Guards, data and network security, storage architecture, middleware, processing usage, system configuration and management, technical performance measurements and optimization, etc.)

Survey of the technologies in the marketplace, the trends in the industry and technology selection, including trade-off studies and prototype demonstrations. Define technology criteria selection based on required performance and conduct trade-off analysis:

What you bring to the role
- Possesses a bachelor’s in engineering or related area of study with 5 years of related industry experience, or a master's degree in engineering or related area of study with 3 years of related industry experience

Communicates effectively with technical and non-technical members of the engineering/management staff and personnel assigned to related work (French and English)

Aptitude for solving challenging problems in a team environment

Additional skills desired for the role
The following skills and certification are considered as assets:

Knowledge of requirement management for hardware lifecycle, from design to procurement and obsolescence

Familiarity with industry collaboration tools such as Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS), Jira, Confluence

Proficiency with Microsoft Office tool suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Familiarity with configuration management processes.
Language Requirements in Quebec
Knowledge of the English language is required for this role as the position described in this posting requires the candidate to communicate every day with a virtual team outside Quebec as well as communicate with different members of the organization, clients and suppliers located outside of Canada. For engineering positions, the candidate must also be able to read or modify technical documents from our main clients and write technical documents for these same clients.
