About the Role
The Lead Systems Administrator is responsible for taking a lead role in the planning, development, implementation, deployment and support of the Red Hat Linux infrastructure, whether physical, virtual, or cloud-based. Additionally, the individual in this position will provide monitoring, maintenance and support of the RedHat infrastructure management platforms along with providing input on ways to improve stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment. The role serves as a functional and technical expert; and provides technical mentorship and guidance to the team. Acting as a subject matter expert and point of contact for external vendors, the Lead Systems Administrator is responsible for optimizing the quality of the server's architecture, as well as providing innovative solutions on custom development to meet the university's functional and technical requirements.
