Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a motivated individual for the position of Shipper/Receiver within our Grande Prairie, AB Branch. This is a full-time, permanent position.
Please note - our work environment is safety sensitive and will require the successful applicant to undergo a pre-employment medical and drug evaluation (including cannabis).
Role and Responsibilities:
- Ensure that customer orders are shipped on time and according to due date.
- Manage deliveries by organizing loads, locating and contracting trucks and searching for the best truck rates.
- Check Purchase Orders against incoming material and customer orders if applicable.
- Complete bill of lading according to picking tickets and identify discrepancies in quantities and weights.
- Receive and respond to customer shipping inquiries and complaints.
- Liaise with plan supervisor to ensure proper scheduling of orders for late/early pick-ups and deliveries.
- Recognize schedule of internal process in order to develop scheduled deliveries.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year shipping experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Effective communication and problem solving abilities.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Metals industry product knowledge is preferable.
- Knowledge of Metalware would be an asset.
Hourly Rate Range: $26.50
