The Assistant Manager is a team leader who thrives in a fast-paced team environment.
Position Overview
The Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager with the overall daily management, sales, training, and operations of the store.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in motivating the sales team and align daily activities to achieve business goals
- Work alongside sales associates to achieve daily sales goals
- Monitor sales floor and zone coverage to drive sales and maintain customer focus
- Open and close the store in the absence of the Store Manager
- Model and ensure dress code compliance
- Communicate customer feedback to the Store Manager
- Respond to changing demands of the business
- Analyze stock levels to react and reorder fast sellers
- Assist in merchandising the store as new items arrive
- Protect the customer experience in all business areas
- Maintain relationships with our customers
- Ensure proper training on product knowledge
- Lead by example in all areas of the business: sales, dress code, time & attendance
- Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures
- Effectively leverages and appropriately delegates responsibilities to the entire team
- Fosters a challenging and positive team environment in which members participate, cooperate with and support each other
- Manage inventory to keep loss prevention low
- Ensure store is replenished properly throughout the day
Experience, Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications
- A minimum of 1 year of retail management experience
- Confident in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment
- Passionate about fashion and is knowledgeable of current fashion trends
- Excellent interpersonal skills supporting a team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management/project skills
- Strong planning and organizational skills with a sense of priority for deadlines and attention to detail
- Ability to recognize and react to changing work demands
- Goal oriented: ability to stay focused on creating winning results
- Hours/days of work vary due to the demands of the business
- Must be able to work shift standing and be able to lift approximately 20lbs, and to pack, unpack and move stock
Job Types: Part-time, Full-time
Part-time hours: 25-44 per week
