Job Title: Registered Pharmacy Technician – Compounding
Location: Kingston, ON
Reports to: Pharmacy Manager

Job Responsibilities
- Perform verification of pharmaceutical calculations, medication dilutions and weight
- Perform verification during the various stages of the compounding process and of the final preparation
- Perform final check of orders when required
- Support the Compounding Specialist (assist in training staff, environmental monitoring, sterility testing, updating P&Ps, etc.)
- Perform narcotic destruction
- Assist in prioritizing and assigning tasks/orders inside of the clean room
- Compound Sterile and Non-Sterile Preparations in compliance with P&P’s and Standards set by the company
- Monitor and maintain records of equipment calibration
- Maintain pharmacy records
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice of a Registered Pharmacy Technician
Qualifications
- Accreditation as a Registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing and adherence to the Standards of Practice with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
- Minimum of one year experience as a Registered Pharmacy Technician
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to exercise leadership and sound judgement
- Competency in prioritizing and multitasking in a busy environment
- Ability to learn and stay up to date with sterile and non-sterile compounding standards
- Strong understanding of NAPRA Guidelines is an asset
- Experience with sterile compounding an asset
