Electrical Design Technologist
Location: Sydney,NS, CA

Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and modification of mechanical and electrical industrial project drawings for varying types of projects in the industrial, commercial, and retail sectors;
- Revise and update existing drawings reflecting design changes to ensure consistent documentation of the project;
- Review blueprints, plans, specifications and other customer documentation as requested by the project engineer or project manager;
- Revise and update drawings to ensure consistent documentation of the project;
- Adhere to company/client CAD standards for all production drawings;
- Maintain notes, design calculations and other documentation for future reference.
Qualifications:
- Recent Engineering or Engineering Technology Graduate with 3-5 year of Electrical Design/Drafting experience using Autodesk software;
- 3D modeling experience within a Revit environment;
- Understanding of the following: industrial electrical systems including power distribution for LV and MV systems, electrical protection and coordination, motor controls, application of North American Electrical Codes(CSA C22.1 Part 1, NFPA 70E, ) in commercial and industrial environments, light systems and lighting analysis, Industrial control systems (PLC/HMI), Process and Instrumentation drawings;
- Requires a good attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines;
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn new skills and work across disciplines.
Nice to have:
- An understanding of mechanical systems related to fluids, pumping and piping
- Knowledge of raw material conveyor transfer systems
- Knowledge of PLC/HMI programming, field experience commissioning electrical control systems
- Site inspection or hands on site work experience.
