PRIMARY PURPOSE
As part of the Office of the CIO, the Manager, IT Governance and Performance Management supports TransLink’s Business Technology Services (BTS) team in business oversight as it relates to technology. The Business Management Office (BMO) supports TransLink by managing BTS as a business, ensuring there are the right resources, skills, assets, and information to make long-term decisions about services that deliver value to the enterprise.
This is a key role within BTS to deliver on the objectives of the department and expand the department’s capabilities based on broad trends in the technology and transportation industry. You will bring a proven track record and strong skills in business strategy, executive facilitation, continuous improvement, business growth and expansion, communications, customer and partner engagement, and financial management.
This role is responsible for leading a team focused on establishing and executing governance processes that support BTS in operating consistently, reporting accurately, and planning for the future. The role includes oversight of BTS service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs), risk management frameworks, policy management, and developing communications and executive/board reports. The manager acts as a facilitator across BTS teams to capture data, information, and ideas, and present that information for informed decision-making. Your ability to understand the intersection of technology, business, and governance will be pivotal in ensuring the organization's IT policies, processes, and projects align with overall business goals.
By leading the governance and performance management functions, this role will provide structure, discipline, and visibility over BTS’ delivery performance, ensuring consistency and industry best-practices are leveraged for strategic decision making that aligns to long-term business objectives.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
? Collaborates with cross-functional teams, such as IT, legal, compliance, and risk management, to ensure a cohesive approach to governance-related matters.
? Manages relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, fostering collaboration and alignment between IT governance efforts and business objectives.
? Manages the collection, analysis, and presentation of relevant data and metrics to support decision-making and provides insights into the effectiveness of BTS service delivery. Develops and maintains dashboards and reports for senior leadership review.
? Supports the development, implementation, and enforcement of IT policies, standards, and procedures. Ensures compliance with industry regulations and best practices, working closely with legal and compliance teams.
? Leads the development of executive-level technology-focused reports, such as monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to C-suite level leaders or the Board of Directors.
? Hosts monthly, quarterly, and annual technology review sessions with senior leadership teams.
? Collaborates across technology departments to develop financial and operational reports based on capital projects, operational initiatives, and emerging technology trends.
? Acts as a bridge between senior leadership, IT Governance teams, and other relevant departments. Coordinates and facilitates clear and effective communication, ensuring that key messages, decisions, and updates are communicated promptly and accurately across all stakeholders.
? Develops and manages the BTS Risk Register, working with stakeholders across the organization to document risks and mitigation strategies as it relates to TransLink’s technology portfolio.
? Manages the selection, training, skill development and performance of direct reports, consultants, and temporary staff. Negotiates and manages contracts and agreements with vendors, suppliers, and consultants. Provides input in departmental budget.
? Oversees a team delivering value by managing activities related to governance, risk, reporting, communications, reporting, and policy.
