Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the dispatch operations for a fleet of vehicles
- Coordinate and schedule transportation activities, ensuring timely delivery of goods
- Monitor and track shipments to ensure they are on schedule
- Communicate with drivers, customers, and other stakeholders to provide updates on delivery status
- Utilize phone systems and other communication tools to effectively coordinate logistics
- Collaborate with shipping and receiving teams to ensure accurate and efficient movement of goods
- Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including data entry into relevant systems (e.g., Avaal Management software)
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to optimize dispatch operations
Requirements:
- Previous experience in fleet management or transportation management is required
- Proficiency in using phone systems and other communication tools
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes and procedures
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignments simultaneously
- Excellent attention to detail for accurate data entry and record keeping
- Knowledge of logistics software systems such as SyteLine, AS400, or Oracle Transportation Management is preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Strong problem-solving skills to address any issues that may arise during transportation operations
