Position – Structural Engineer

Job Summary
Your main duties will be structural design engineering. You will be expected to demonstrate initiative in the execution of your work. You will be able to tackle a problem independently, with supervisory input from lead engineers.

Key Knowledge and Experience
Less than 4 years of experience in structural design and engineering is required. Experience working in the consulting field, especially in the area of mining and, more specifically potash, would be considered an asset. Site exposure and heavy industrial exposure would also be an asset.
This position requires demonstrated strength of leadership and proven time management capabilities. Excellent communication skills (oral and written) are essential. A solid understanding of computers and Office software is necessary, including proficiency in Excel. Experience with other software, such as MathCAD, AutoCAD and 3D structural analysis modeling software will be an asset.
Previous technical design experience in structural steel and concrete, or experience leading a small team and/or small projects would also be considered assets.
Time
We have normal hours of business and every employee will need to work a minimum of 40 hours per week excluding personal time needs (vacation, sick, bereavement, banked time, etc.). In consulting there are always busier times and slower times. When things get busy there will be a requirement to work over time so that we can get the job done and meet our client’s needs.
