The Service Manager, Group Benefits is responsible for a team comprised of Service Representatives and Sales Assistants, who are responsible for the efficient, effective, professional and dynamic servicing of Clients and Advisors within the Vancouver Region. This role reports to the Western Service Director in Edmonton. The successful candidate requires the ability to negotiate and work with Account Executives and other internal Sun Life partners to obtain creative Client focused solutions. The manager’s primary role is to lead their team to quality client servicing by: ensuring accurate staffing, setting objectives, coaching and motivating staff to deliver outstanding service results and provide strong support to our Account Executive team. Provides guidance in problem solving, monitoring performance and controlling the expense and budgets. The role requires the ability to identify and implement change, make process improvements and monitor the team to ensure it is effective, efficient and customer focused.
What will you do?
Management, acquisition, retention and development of staff
Use in depth group benefit industry knowledge to provide leadership, motivate and enhance the overall experience of the team with a focus on customer service and employee consideration
Encourage and promotes opportunities for operational effectiveness and an efficient team environment Develop goals and objectives that align with Business Development goals
Provide guidance and coaching to staff to ensure employees have the competencies required
Maintains open communication with other regional offices to share new ideas and look for new opportunities to better service our clients
Manage or participate in different projects as they arise
Create an environment that promotes team member accountability and autonomy

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
