AltaGas - Director Corporate Communications
Reporting to the VP & Chief Communication Officer, the Director Corporate Communications serves as a key partner to the AltaGas Midstream division leading external communications; supports our ESG reporting from a communications standpoint and leads enterprise wide internal communications.
You will:
Lead the development and execution of internal communication strategies and tactics that engage and inform employees across the organization.
Develop and implement a comprehensive ESG communication strategy that aligns with the company's overall ESG strategy and goals.
Collaborate with the ESG team to ensure accurate and timely reporting of ESG performance and progress to internal and external stakeholders.
Manage and mentor a team of communications professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality work.
Work with CEO and local executives to develop executive leadership communications (speeches, scripts and talking points etc.)
Planning and executing external corporate events such as the Annual General Meetings, Town Halls
Develop external outreach strategy in conjunction with other members of the Public Affairs team, build relationships with local media, respond to interview requests.
Work closely with the AltaGas Midstream division to understand their business needs and develop communications plans that support their objectives.
Act as a spokesperson for the company as needed, working with media and other external stakeholders to communicate our key messages effectively.
Monitor and analyze communications metrics to measure the effectiveness of our strategies and tactics, and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
Stay up-to-date on emerging trends and best practices in internal communications and ESG reporting, and share knowledge and insights with the team and other stakeholders as appropriate.
Being part of the Enterprise on-call and expected availability during emergencies.
Being part of the AltaGas Corporate Communications Enterprise Wide strategy.
You have:
Bachelor's Degree communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field preferred
10+ Years Communications experience required
5+ Years in a leadership role required
Experience in a public company, preferably within the energy industry.
Strong media connections or ability to make media connections to support your role.
Demonstrated experience developing and executing successful internal communications strategies and tactics.
Strong understanding of ESG reporting and related communication strategies.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to write and edit compelling content for a variety of audiences.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve their best.
Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Evaluating and measuring success of communications campaigns to improve effectiveness
Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leaders, subject matter experts, and external partners.
