Job Summary: DJ Peat Roofing & Sheet Metal Ltd. is currently seeking Roofing Labours & skilled Flat Roofers to join our team. We are looking for individuals with a minimum of 1 year of experience in flat roofing; however, we are willing to provide training to the right candidates. A valid working at height certificate is considered an asset for this position. As a Flat Roofer, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining flat roofs according to industry standards and company guidelines. This is a full-time position with Monday to Friday work schedule, starting at 7 am (finish time may vary).
Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain various types of flat roofing systems.
- Prepare roofs for installation by removing old roofing materials, cleaning the surface, and ensuring proper insulation and waterproofing.
- Measure and cut roofing materials to fit specific roof dimensions.
- Apply roofing materials, including membranes, asphalt, and other coatings, using appropriate techniques and tools.
- Install and seal roof flashing and other roof components.
- Conduct inspections to identify and repair any leaks, damages, or potential issues with the roof.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols, including wearing appropriate protective equipment and following working at height regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient project completion.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in flat roofing.
- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Valid working at height certificate is an asset.
- Knowledge of different types of flat roofing systems and materials.
- Familiarity with roofing tools and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Valid driver's license is preferred.
