Job Summary:
Li-Cycle is seeking an experienced Manager, Procurement, NA Maintenance, that will develop and execute strategic sourcing for the Li-Cycle Maintenance Teams. The Manager, Procurement, NA Maintenance, will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating agreements, ordering, and expediting core materials and components needed for the Maintenance department. The Manager, Procurement, NA Maintenance will work closely with the Maintenance personnel assigned to the individual Spokes and Hub as well as the Central teams to ensure that all teams have on hand the materials and components to be successful.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Purchase and expedite materials, equipment, or technological services necessary for repair and maintenance within the NA Spokes and Hub. Coordinate logistical needs for equipment delivery with Supply Chain.
- Develop and lead training for onsite and corporate teams supporting purchasing of materials, equipment, or technological services
- Serve as subject matter expert of ERP platform design and functionality
- Lead projects, develop and manage sourcing strategies, drive cost savings synergies, issue RFI’s/RFQ’s and negotiate contracts so as to obtain the most competitive prices or total cost of ownership while maintaining quality standards and service requirements.
- Partner with Maintenance team and work closely with Director, Maintenance, NA to ensure operational procurement needs are met, minimize disruptions and keep plant uptime above KPI targets.
- Work closely with the inside legal, finance and regulatory department to develop contracts and terms with strategic suppliers.
- Ensure supplier capacity alignment, develop senior-level relationships, conduct monthly meetings to drive service, quality improvements, and lead time reductions.
- Develop risk management procedures to mitigate losses in the event of supply shortages or disruptions.
- Ensure site compliance to global procurement policies, legal policies, financial controls, quality directives and relevant SOPs.
- In conjunction with corporate maintenance teams, develop replenishment strategies (min/max) with the plants for critical equipment, regular maintenance and inventory.
- Develop baseline cross-functional KPIs / scorecards to measure performance to targets for budget, contracted spend, and vendor service metrics.
- Support Transactional Buying Activities and maintenance of ERP data.
- Facilitate strong cross-functional relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Travel to Canada & USA as necessary.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Engineering or related field
- 7+ years of experience in Maintenance Procurement, Contract Management, Logistics, and Expediting
- Purchasing or Supply Chain certificate desired
- Experience in inventory control procedures and best practices is a plus
- Organized, attentive to detail & functions with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to analyze and solve problem effectively
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Well-developed computer skills in Excel and ERP software
