ABOUT THE POSITION:
As a member of the Hepatitis C (treatment) Team, the successful candidate will work directly with clinic and community patients to screen for Hepatitis C and support the patients by linking them to treatment. You will provide screening for hepatitis c and other infectious diseases, as well as completing routine bloodwork in a clinic setting utilizing phlebotomy and POC/DBS where needed within a clinic setting. The incumbent will provide services both virtually and in person.
YOUR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide Hepatitis C Screening and Phlebotomy in various clinic settings within the region in person or virtually with screening initiatives in other regions

Be responsible for inventory and stock of own phlebotomy/POC/DBS supplies that will travel between clinics with you

Clear understanding of requisitions used and how to complete them

Clear understanding of phlebotomy tubes/order of draw/handling and shipping processes

Maintain appropriate documentation and records

May be required to contact Public Health for historical results

Refer for further testing if needed (example: pt.’s MRP wishes to discuss new POS results prior to VL ordering)

Order entry and documentation in HER

Maintain professionalism with a “People First” attitude
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE:

The ideal candidate has worked as a nurse, lab assistant or similar role within Healthcare and has a keen interest in working within a pilot project that could result in an ongoing program.

Phlebotomy Experience required.

Valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle.

Willingness to travel out of town and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed.

Effective oral and written communication skills: ability to properly and effectively document, and understand order of tubes/order of draw, handling/shipping protocols.

Have a general understanding of Hepatitis C and available treatment options.

Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team involving physicians, pharmacies, nurses, and support staff

Able to work with minimal supervision and organize workload demands

Leadership abilities and professional maturity to be able to develop meaningful therapeutic relationships
