Strudet Inc. is a structural engineering firm specializing in residential and commercial construction, with projects of various sizes always on-the-go. We are small, entrepreneurial firm with a hands-on approach and focus on customer service.
We are seeking a Junior Structural Engineer with at least 3 years of progressive structural engineering experience to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of the Ontario Building Code, AutoCAD LT and Microsoft Word. The Junior Structural Engineer will be responsible for supporting senior engineers in the design, analysis, and management of various structural engineering projects. This is a hybrid role that requires both in-office and remote work.
Responsibilities:
- Assist senior engineers in the preparation of structural engineering designs, calculations, and specifications for various projects.
- Prepare structural engineering drawings using AutoCAD LT software.
- Review project specifications, codes, standards, and drawings to ensure compliance with the Ontario Building Code and other relevant regulations.
- Perform structural analysis using industry-standard software.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Attend project meetings and communicate with clients and stakeholders as required.
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
- Assist with construction administration, including site visits and responding to contractor RFIs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- At least 3 years of progressive structural engineering experience.
- Strong understanding of the Ontario Building Code and other relevant regulations.
- Experience using AutoCAD LT software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
