We are hiring an Education and Tour Coordinator for the project Loin du Coeur to build and supervise a grassroots network of educators and community workers that will implement a vibrant, proven strategy engaging youth in learning about healthy dating relationships, violence and consent. Loin du coeur is an interactive theatre production that will tour PE in October. A play lies at the heart of a comprehensive strategy integrating theatre, education and health & community services to assist in open, honest discussions about dating relationships, sexuality, consent and violence prevention. Now in its first tour of PEI, the program has reached 33,000 youth in Ontario and Saskatchewan through 12 tours.
Responsibilities:
In the capacity of Educational Coordinator, the position is responsible for:
- Volunteer management (recruitment, screening, training, supervision training and supervision of Facilitators, and follow up)
- Educational responsibilities (liaising with, providing orientation for, and coordinating educators)
- Reporting and documentation
In the capacity of Tour Coordinator, the position is responsible for:
- Booking and confirming details of performances with schools and communities
- Arranging and managing accommodations and transportation
- Recording audience interventions
- Reporting and documentation
Qualifications:
- Good organizational and communication skills, open hearted and enthusiastic, works well with groups, leadership abilities, an affinity for the arts.
- Post graduate qualification (in education, women’s studies, social service-related field, youth work, arts administration) or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Some communication in French may be required. Please indicate your level of French fluency.
Position begins immediately. 20-week contract position, variable part time hours, $22/hr up to a maximum of $5000.
