About the job:
Kent is recruiting Instrumentation Technicians based in Kitimat, British Columbia. The Instrumentation Technician will be responsible for the correctness of all items from quality, technical and installation aspects of the control system installation. Will be responsible for conducting preventative and corrective maintenance of equipment and troubleshooting circuit problems while applying theory and related knowledge to install, rebuild or repair electrical equipment as needed. The Instrumentation Technician will also assist with all service calls while on duty. Ensure all necessary tools, parts, and supplies are available for each job performed; complete required service records; and be responsible for recommending and initiating equipment modifications and replacing electrical components. Other duties will be assigned as necessary.
Roles and responsibilities:

Responsible for the review and accuracy of all technical data from the client.

Ensure that monthly inspection records are carried out on all test equipment.

Ensure that any variation to the scope of work is advised immediately to the supervisor.

Maintain and update loop packs at all times.
-
Maintain proper housekeeping in the calibration shop at all times.
-
Calibrate all instruments by their datasheets.
-
Loop check according to the ILD.
-
Liaise with the site planner and ensure timely progression of the works. Advise any potential problems or delays to the Project Manager.

Ensure that proper quarantine procedure is carried out where applicable for damaged equipment/material.

Should be able to troubleshoot and repair plant instrument problems “Pneumatics
-
and Electronics.”

Should be able to work on PLC, DCS and Smart Instruments.
-
Read and understand loop drawings and P & ids.
-
Able to tune field controllers, adjust P & ID setting and tune the loop.
-
Experience in troubleshooting combustion control loops steam boilers/furnaces.
-
Carryout testing safety-critical devices/systems according to the safety-critical procedures
-
Ensure that all loop checking is carried out promptly and to the proper procedures.

Maintain all test records for both calibrations and loop checks to QC.

Ensure all corrections are redlined on specification sheets and drawings.

- Trade training certificate from a recognized institution

Skills Requirement:
