An opportunity has arisen, and we are seeking a qualified hotel Senior Conference Services Manager to lead our team based in Canmore.
This is not remote or hybrid. The position is based in our hotel in Canmore, AB.
We are a 164-room hotel and full-service conference center.
You need to be a wiz with Conference Services and provide support and leadership to our on property Conference Services team.
Responsibilities includes:
Attends and participates in Sales and Revenue meetings, BEO meetings and Resume meetings.
Creating BEO’s and Group Resumes for incoming groups.
Effectively and efficiently servicing group catering requirements including coordinating rooming lists, cut off dates, catering requirements, audio visual needs, etc.
Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position
Produce and update catering forecasts.
Strategize with team to ensure budgets are met. Create promotions etc.
Daily contact with Sales Managers to hand over groups/contracts.
Team Management
Manage and assign groups to team members
Mentors and coaches on-site team, supporting team members in their roles with decision making and making groups, revenue and events.
Able to interpret where road blocks / navigate when challenges occur and be able to resolve to positive outcome.
Ability to read and interpret contracts to ensure events are executed and invoiced as contracted
Establish excellent working relationships with our clients/ conveners.
Support and relief for other members of the sales and catering team (2 direct reports)
Other
Management / updating of Sales and Catering platform- Delphi.
Passkey management / set up and monitoring
Organize and participate in sales calls, sales trips, and tradeshows.
Develop and maintain relationships with Food and Beverage Management, Finance, Front Office, and Revenue.
Builds creative sales strategies that are focused on customer satisfaction and revenue generation.
Identify and develop new market opportunities for the business, maintaining knowledge of consumer, competitor, and market trends.

You must have at least 4 years Conference Services experience, Sales experience in a hospitality environment and familiar with F&B - catering/banquet environment.
Proven ability to lead a team.
Valid drivers license and vehicle preferred.
