We are looking for a qualified Structural Engineer to join our Atlantic Crane team in Dartmouth, NS. Reporting to the manager, you will be tasked with creating detailed fabrication drawings based on sales quotations and industry expert’s input. Acting as project manager on each, you will be involved from conception to delivering finished products to our customers.

Principle Responsibilities
- Create technical drawings based on established engineering practices including approval and fabrication
- Perform engineering calculations to validate tool design and performance as required by customer specifications
- Ensure all project documentation conforms to QA Manual requirements
- Provide guidance and support to manufacturing during the process of fabrication
- Oversee the proof testing during the course of the project
- Interact professionally and maintain working relationships with other consultants and manufacturing teams
- Interpret architectural, structural and mechanical drawings, if required
- Inspect manufactured items for compliance with customer specifications and company quality objectives before shipping
- Provide timely project information to all stakeholders as required to maintain current and accurate documentation
- Provide input on project quotes and budgets based on industry knowledge
Education and Skills Required:
- A recognized degree/diploma in Structural Engineering Technology
- 3-5 years experience in structural engineering
- Experience with custom design and welding processes in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in creating drawings for lifting projects considered an asset
- Understanding of ISO procedures and QC documentation
- Ability to communicate technical issues on a level appropriate with the audience
- Ability to make logical conclusions, anticipates obstacles, and considers different approaches
