We are looking for a Facilities Manager to join our team in Toronto!
The successful candidate will manage the physical plant and associated facilities functions for Ground Transportation Systems Canada Inc. You will establish, design, develop and manage other locations, if necessary and as assigned, in order to maximize the utilization of company resources and provide a safe, effective working environment for all employees.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain a competent and motivated staff
Provide the opportunity for upgrading individual skills and provides opportunities for advancement
Appraise staff performance and goals on a periodic basis in a positive manner
Develop and maintain short, medium and long term plans for resources, tools and processes
Develop, implement and maintain all company Facility and Security Processes and Procedures
Ensure that all Facility and Security Processes and Procedures are communicated, understood and adhered to
Optimize space utilization by preparing appropriate designs, plans, equipment procurement, installations, and staff relocation logistics (as required)
Keep abreast of management techniques and skill levels to provide the tools for effective management
Utilize superior interpersonal and written communication skills to relate, liaise and conduct business transactions with intra-company, inter-company and external colleagues and suppliers
Establish and foster a positive and collaborative work environment within all Departments through positive, co-operative, collaborative and consensus building approaches to all Facility planning, Fire Safety and Security related activities
Ensure that the Departments’ Facility strategic plans are fully supportive of and in alignment with Corporate policies and goals
Establish, plan, set, negotiate and work with all Departments to ensure best strategic and long term Facility planning and costs associated with the physical plant, for both Capital and Operating Budgets
Set and Manage Operating and Capital budgets in excess of $5 million annually
Monitor Departmental Financial performance, both Operational and Capital on a regular basis
Required Skills and Experience:
Post-secondary education
3-5 years of facilities maintenance experience
Sound understanding of Maintenance, Security, and Facilities related activities business practices and processes
Ability to prepare, report and work to budget
Use of cost effective, innovative techniques
Ability and affinity towards multi-tasking Certifications
